The Pilanesberg Game Reserve, at 572sqkm, is the fourth largest national park in South Africa. It is located just 82km south of Thabazimbi. The Pilansberg range of hills lies in the WWF AT0717 Southern African Bushveld Ecoregion. The park is located in broken country formed by the crater of a long extinct volcano. A series of three concentric hills are relics of this ancient volcano dating back over 1.2 million years. This is believed to have been one of the largest known volcano’s on earth.

Kayaking on an inflated kayak on the Crocodile River is the ultimate bush experience, and it’s something you can experience at the lodge.
